Toshiba Satallite My First Laptop! Jul 14, 2008 - 08:26 AM

Its a real nice computer but it came equipped with Vista which I like and hate at the same time. I hate it cause it stalls when I go to do normal tasks, even though it has a dual core proccessor it runs windows slower than my single core desktop with XP

The Nvidia gfx card runs Bioshock which I've had forever just never played because my desktop's gfx needed to be upgraded, I figured I'd get a new computer than upgrade that old piece of crap

I'm having trouble with the sound card which sounds fine on everything except on Bioshock, I get a pretty bad echo and stutters

I came . that close to ditching Vista and putting XP on this thing today........... Toshiba fills their computers with junk and the cooler junk they stuffed this thing with crashes it. I still use dinosaur more than this thing lol, laptops are overrated. I may have to go for the pirated Windows cause they dont give you an option to on the bkup cd to install without all the crap. I get what I paid for tho... but for the price Toshiba Satellites are nice.

I just got a 2.4GHz MacBook Pro, pretty nice! I use it to study immunology while the pathology prof is droning on about whatever...

I've never tried a Mac, I'd just be afraid some software I like to use wouldn't be available for it. It's getting up there though

It runs Windows if you need it to, but other than games, the Mac's native stuff is better to begin with, plus I don't have to deal with viruses. As for games, there are more than I have time to play, but if I needed to I could add Vista and run it in a window using Parallels or Fusion.
